Todd Schmenk is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 18 years of experience in the mental & behavioral health field helping patients work through chronic health, anxiety, and adjustment issues.
He is adept in using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and advanced Integral Psychotherapy (IP) methodologies to facilitate client awareness and emotional flexibility driven by values-based, client-centered, and solution-focused strategies.
Todd is also a dynamic public speaker with more than 15 years expertise educating various populations (both public and professional) on mental health and wellness topics utilizing enthusiasm, story-telling and technology in delivering memorable speeches and presentations that engage audiences.
Much of Todd's focus, especially over the last five years, has been in addressing anxiety and continuously training and researching for treatment options that are evidenced based. This focus includes panic disorders, social phobias, disassociation, performance anxiety and depression related to long-term exposure to anxiety.
CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS
Given Todd's initial training as a Patient Educator at the Cleveland Clinic (internship) and then later as a Health Educator for the York City Bureau of Health, Todd incorporates his expertise and experience from his earlier profession into his therapeutic approach in helping those dealing with chronic diseases - such as heart disease, cancer, and stroke.
Todd has been involved with Integral Theory since 1999 as was an inaugural member of the Integral Institute in 2001. He successfully blended the concepts into innovative public health programming winning him awards from the CDC and NIH. Todd continues his tradition in applying it to the field of mental health counseling.
